2024 GDS Yearbook
marketing, design, and creative
by eian

For Gaston Day School, I was tasked as lead editor once again to creatively direct, design pages, and develop a marketing plan for their middle and upper school yearbook. The process was quite strenuous, and tested the yearbook staff's teamwork skills, but it all paid off in a very huge way, with my creative vision adding to everyone's ideas for page layouts and bringing these vignettes together in a uniform, yet vibrant package in the form of the 2024 Gaston Day School Yearbook.

Glass
It’s beautiful to look at, and incredible to hold. This is the most premium material we’ve ever used on a yearbook, and while some may want to take care of it, the scratches and imperfections to it will only add to the theme of the book. It’s designed to look like a CD, and the spine contrasts it in a magnificent way with lots of text with many, many easter eggs. This came from months of experimenting and designing. The aesthetics are colorful, and feature nuggets of what the future looked like in the early 2000s. It continues the RENAISSANCE book with its stylish and fashion-forward design and typography, with much more personality and love put into each page.
